I am a bit behind on my posts, partly due to family needs but also because I just don’t keep up well with social media and such. Mea culpa. So now that this show is over and my piece is on the way back I guess I’d best post about it, or close the barn door now that the horse has escaped if you will.

May 23rd the 31st National Juried Photography Show at Louisville opened in person at their gallery the Louisville Arts Center in Louisville, CO. You can still see the show online here at the time of this writing, though the physical show closed yesterday (June 1, 2025).

One of my newer pieces was on display, “Freeing the Spirit,” from my Iceland trip last year with the Venus de Tierra group. On this particular day it was so windy that even our residence Icelandic Selkie (she’s on Instagram) felt it was too cold for nude work. But Kaela had received this new outfit on loan and she felt inspired to perform a solo “a cappella” “contact” dance performance. It lasted maybe ten minutes and was amazing to behold. During one of her controlled falls she reached up and the bird flew by and I knew I’d gotten a good one.
