I received an Official Selection for this year’s Tokyo Int’l Foto Awards. Essentially this means I made it to the last round of judging, but didn’t get an award or honorable mention. I’ve not had a lot of success at TIFA; my best was an honorable mention for a color photo of Mt. Fuji (which seemed like an easy layup). It’s nice to know I made it to the final round in a world arena with a new series, especially since it’s purely art and not journalistic or current events which tend to do well in contests. Just means there’s room for growth.
